Signalling a gradual ‘opening up of the Indian economy, PM Narendra Modi is all set to address the India Global Week being held remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first time after the lockdown ended that Mr. Modi is addressed such an international forum.
Being pitched as one of the major international events hosting India this year, the India Global Week 2020 is all set to showcase India’s prowess in the technological field beside the various manufacturing and investment opportunities that India provides.
This 3-day summit, starting on Thursday, is going to focus on the India-UK bilateral ties besides hosting other nations’ ties with India such as Singapore, Japan, Australia, and the US.
The hosts of the event, UK-headquartered India Inc Group have organized a total of about 75 sessions covering a wide range of topics such as pharma, defense, geopolitics, emerging technologies, and others.
Other eminent speakers include Railways Minister Piyush Goyal, IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and other high-profile senior ministers of the BJP-led Central Government.
From the UK side, Prince Charles will be making a special address besides other high-ranking UK ministers like Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, Health Secretary Matt Hancock, and Home Secretary Priti Patel.
The organizers have also included in-conversation segments with eminent personalities like Indian origin Hollywood actor Kunal Nayyar, journalist Barkha Dutt, the Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar among others.
It is expected that this event is to have a worldwide audience of more than 5,000 people besides hosting addresses of an estimated 250 eminent businessmen and strategic expert speakers.
