However, placing many ads on a single web page neither help to generate revenue quickly nor it’s acceptable by the ad networks. So it’s always better to add ads to website up to the limited numbers as per the respective ad network advertising placement policies and terms.

Whenever we think about the best contextual high paying ad network, the Google ads network proactively hit on our mind.

In Q1 2014, Google earned USD $3.4 billion or 22% of total revenue through Google AdSense – Wikipedia.

Because AdSense is the world’s best pay per click advertising program run by Google that allows publishers to serve automatic text, image, video or interactive media advertisements that target the site content and audience.

Every new blogger makes a website and joins Google AdSense ad program with a hope that they would earn decent money online.

But it’s not as easy as seems.

It takes a lot of hard work, time and patience to make a successful money making website.

I’m not demotivating you, however, this is the fact.

Good content is the king loved by both Google panda algorithm (ranking signals) and the real audience and it is the only way towards success in blogging.

Well, the Google AdSense team is very strict about the AdSense program policies and TOS. If anyone found violating their terms, the team disable the publisher account.

So it’s important to follow AdSense guidelines.

Google has some Ad placement policies where it limits the maximum number of ad units per page.

What is the Maximum Number of AdSense Ad Units Can I Place on a Web Page?

According to the AdSense program policies, a Google AdSense publisher can place up to:

  2. TWO Custom search boxes (Google CSE) on one web page.
  3. THREE Content units – maximum number of 3 units are allowed.
  4. THREE Link units – Maximum number of 3 ads are safe to use.

You can add maximum 9 ad units per web page including 1 video unit, 2 custom search boxes, 3 content ad units, and 3 text links units.

Google also made it very easy as 1-2-3 to keep track of the maximum number of each type of unit that their program policies allow.

Let’s have a look in details.

#1 ONE Video Ad Unit Per Page

As of now, the Video unit is only available in some particular countries and languages, though the Googlers working to expand video units to additional publishers.
